Argentina's Buenos Aires province infrastructure ministry has received interest from five companies in a consultancy tender for a project to preserve the Luján river basin, the local government said in a release.
The initiative involves drawing up a plan for sustainable use of resources in the area and reducing the impact of contamination, flooding and drought on the basin.
"The project is fundamental to the extensive area, as it involves completing studies for the third most important basin in the province in terms of urban development," said province infrastructure minister Cristina Álvarez.
The Luján basin spans 14 districts in Buenos Aires province.
