Govt disburses US$24mn for Tena storm drains

The government of Ecuador has disbursed US$23.5mn to build storm drains in Napo province capital Tena. The funds were transferred from crude oil proceeds which correspond to the Amazonian city, state newspaper El Ciudadano reported. The allotment, which will help mitigate contamination on the Tena and Pano rivers, marks the government's largest investment in Tena, according to the report.
