Govt earmarks US$6.98mn for Anaco potable water

Venezuela's national government has granted a request from Anaco mayor Juan García for 30mn bolívares (US$6.98mn) to improve potable water service in the city, located in Anzoátegui state, paper El Tiempo reported.

The city plans to improve the San Joaquín potable water plant, which is currently operating at 40% of capacity, with water being provided by 16 of its 18 wells.

Residents of Anaco's El Milagro district have been without potable water service for six months, and have been purchasing water from trucks.
