Panama's state-run water utility Idaan has selected a private company to help recuperate US$101mn in unpaid bills from its clients, daily Panamá Digital reported.
Inasa will take over management of Idaan's bills in districts Panamá, Arraiján, La Chorrera and Colón in August.
The company will issue notifications, take legal action and suspend services if necessary to recover the debt.
Inasa is expected to recover US$1.5mn each month, accruing a commission no higher than 18%, according to the report.
