Panama's national water and sewerage utility Idaan expects to complete expansion and improvement works at the Pacora potable water plant, located just outside capital Panama City, by end-July.
The project, which began in 2009, includes installation of a new storage tank as well as construction and repairs to the potable water distribution system, Idaan said in a release.
Idaan will run tests on the expanded distribution system from June 28-July 21 and the system is due to come online on July 27.
The improvements will allow the utility to provide potable water 24 hours a day for Pacora.
The project required an investment of some US$40mn, BNamericas reported previously.
