Colombian chemical holding company Inversiones Mundial has spent US$9.6mn to become the majority shareholder in four Latin American pipeline companies, the company said in a release.
After buying 30% of Amitech Argentina, 15% of Amitech Mexico and 30% of Amiantit Pipe Systems Mexico, Inversiones Mundial now holds 100% of each of the three companies through its subsidiary O-tek Servicios.
The Colombian company also purchased 27.7% of Brazilian pipeline firm Amitech Brazil Tubos, of which it now holds 98.3%.
The shares were previously owned by Grupo Amiantit.
Earlier this year, Inversiones Mundial acquired Costa Rican firm O-tek Servicios Costa Rica, which installs and repairs potable water pipelines and supplies water tanks.
