Peru's private investment promotion agency ProInversión is preparing to concession four irrigation and agriculture initiatives next year that will generate total investments of some US$1.78bn.
The projects include stage III of the Chavimochic irrigation system in La Libertad region, which is slated to be awarded in the second quarter. The concession is expected to generate investments of US$500mn, state news agency Andina reported.
Also in the works is the Choclococha Mejorado initiative in Ica region, which includes the Tambo Ccaracocha reservoir. The project is expected to be concessioned in 1Q11 and generate US$130mn.
The Pisco-Seco river basin project in Ica region is due to be tendered in the 3Q12 and bring in an estimated US$350mn.
Finally, ProInversión plans to concession the hydroelectric component of the Majes-Siguas project in Q4 next year. The initiative is due to generate an estimated US$800mn.
