Uruguayan President José Mujica has asked state-owned water utility OSE's president and vice president to step down.
The utility's president, Carlos Colacce, and vice president Alicia Araújo will resign later this week after failing to agree on a number of issues that affected the utility's performance and development plan.
Mujica's decision was specifically triggered by an argument between Colacce and Araújo regarding the dismissal of a manager at OSE, presidential minister Alberto Breccia was quoted as saying by local press.
Replacements for the two officials have yet to be announced.
