Colombian consortium Sicomap Palmira 2011 has won a tender to build a fourth pipeline from the Río Nima potable water treatment plant to Palmira city in Valle del Cauca department, budgeted at 12.4bn pesos (US$6.54mn).
The consortium is comprised of companies Desarrollamos Ingenieros, Hugo Giraldo Parra and Proyectar Ingeniería, local daily El País reported.
Work is due to launch during the first week of March and will include building a 5,000m3 tank and 7km of pipeline.
Palmira is located in the southwest of the country, roughly 27km from Cali, Valle del Cauca's capital and main city.
