Paraíba pushing to speed up PAC projects

Brazil's federal and Paraíba state governments are discussing projects under the country's growth acceleration plan (PAC) aimed at improving transportation logistics in the northeastern state.

Ricardo Barbosa, executive secretary of Paraíba's PAC projects, met with federal representatives this week to discuss five main development projects, according to a state government release.

Plans include building a dry port in the city of Campina Grande, and an export processing zone in Santa Rita, in the metropolitan area surrounding state capital João Pessoa.
