Peru's private investment promotion agency ProInversión has presented a package of several investment opportunities worth some US$5.6bn in sectors including irrigation, transport and ports.
The package includes projects in regions Tumbes, Piura, Cajamarca, Lampayque, La Libertad and Ancash, state news agency Andina reported.
The bulk of the package involves irrigation projects. The largest of the irrigation projects requires a total investment of about US$565mn and entails irrigation work on the Tumbes river.
A project in Piura will require an US$865mn investment and involves irrigation and hydropower works in Alto Piura.
Also in Piura, the San Lorenzo irrigation initiative and remediation project will call for a 690mn-sol investment.
A project to build the Chonta reservoir in Cajamarca will demand 373mn soles.
As for the transport sector, one opportunity involves building the Salaverry highway in San Martín department's Juanjui city. The project will require an 840mn-sol investment.
And a project involving the Callejón de Huaylas highway in Huánuco department's Chacos and San Luis districts will call for a 478mn-sol investment.
Another opportunity involves building the Eten port in Lambayeque department, which will require 815mn soles, as well as the Equiguren port for 30mn soles.
