Quintana Roo invests US$7mn in water, sanitation initiatives

Mexico's Quintana Roo state water utility Capa has invested 100mn pesos (US$7.15mn) in 23 water and sanitation projects, according to a release.

Works, carried out in the rural municipalities of Othón P Blanco and Bacalar, included expanding potable water and sewage networks and building a wastewater pumping station in state capital Chetumal.

Capa also carried out improvements to the storm drainage system in Chetumal to reduce flood risk, stated the release.
