Rio utility Cedae to expand water supply in Rio das Ostras

Rio de Janeiro state water utility Cedae has announced that it will expand its water supply system in the city of Rio das Ostras.

The company said it will put two water reservoirs into operation in the region.

The reservoirs - with a total capacity to store 2.5mn liters of water - will distribute and supply water to the northern part of the coastal city.

"It is important to highlight that the reservoirs are already completed, as well as the installation of about 2,800m of piping and the booster that will take water to the reservoirs," said Fernando Arruda, Cedae regional manager, in a statement on the company website.

"The testing phase will be completed within the next 90 days and then we will start operations, " he added.
