Brazil's São Paulo state water utility Sabesp (Bovespa: SBSP3, NYSE: SBS) has closed a 12-month contract to supply water to a factory operated by petrochemical company Produquímica Indústria e Comércio in Suzano city, a company spokesperson told BNamericas.
"The company promises to use 6,000m3 of potable water per year as well as Sabesp's sewage collection services. In return, it will receive a 16% reduction on all service fees," the spokesperson said.
The contract is renewable for another 12 months, the spokesperson added.
Produquímica has nine manufacturing plants throughout Brazil. It focuses on technologies and solutions for plant and animal nutrition, industrial chemicals and water treatment products.
Sabesp is Brazil's largest water utility, serving more than 26mn clients in 366 cities and towns in the state.
