Saneago to call US$19mn water, sanitation tenders

Mid-western Brazil's Goiás state water utility Saneago is planning to call some 36mn reais (US$19.3mn) in water and basic sanitation tenders by the end of this year, a company spokesperson told BNamericas. "Approximately 18.4mn reais has been earmarked for sewerage system works and 17.6mn reais for water supply system works," the spokesperson said. National development bank ( BNDES) is providing financing, with 16.1mn reais in loans for sewerage system projects and 15.1mn reais for water supply projects. Saneago will cover the remaining costs, according to the official. State capital Goiânia has been allocated 5.32mn reais for sewerage works, while the municipalities of Águas Lindas and Luziânia will receive 3.14mn reais and 3.08mn reais respectively. The municipalities of Cidade Ocidental and Aparecida de Goiânia will spend 5.75mn reais and 5.48mn reais on potable water. The works fall under phase II of the country's growth acceleration plan (PAC).
