The board of Brazil's Paraná state water utility Sanepar has approved a strategic plan that entails 1.94bn reais (US$1.05bn) in basic sanitation investments through 2014, according to a company release.
Some 498mn reais are earmarked for 2012, 774mn reais for 2013 and 664mn reais for 2014, the release said.
Sanepar serves 344 municipalities in Paraná and neighboring Santa Catarina state. The company has 100% urban potable water coverage and 62% urban wastewater collection and treatment in its service areas.
