Brazil's Mato Grosso do Sul state water utility Sanesul has renewed its sanitation concession with the town of Porto Murtinho, the company said in a release.
With the contract, Sanesul has committed to invest at least 6.7mn reais (US$4.24mn) within the next three years. The company is expected to reach 98% wastewater collection coverage by this time.
The utility will invest more than 14.5mn reais over the 30-year concession, including 5.4mn reais for potable water, 6.9mn reais for sewerage, and 2.2mn reais for institutional development, according to the release.
