Mexico's Tamaulipas state urban development and environment department Seduma has confirmed plans to build a landfill and potable water pipeline in southern Mante city in the short to medium term.
The landfill will need US$1mn for machinery alone, while the pipeline is budgeted at around 100mn pesos (US$8.57mn), local daily Conexión Total reported.
The entity expects to acquire the necessary machinery, including four garbage trucks, to begin work on the landfill in less than a month. The landfill will be operated by Mante municipality.
As for the pipeline, Seduma expects the project to be approved by national water authority Conagua this year. The pipeline will channel water from the Comapa treatment plant to supply Mante.
