Spain donates US$25mn for potable water projects

The Spanish government has donated US$25mn from its Latin America water cooperation fund to help Honduran national water authority Sanaa carry out more than 500 potable water projects in the country.

Sanaa head Danilo Alvarado has met with IDB representatives to draw up final project documents, which must be approved by IDB, local daily La Tribuna reported

The projects include building and improving potable water pipelines in rural areas as well as training and organizing the country's water utilities.

Work will begin in departments Santa Bárbara, Copán and El Paraíso.
