Brazil's national treasury has released 17mn reais (US$10.2mn) to ensure the continuity of sanitation projects under the country's growth acceleration plan (PAC), according to a cities ministry release.
The funding allocation means the ministry has completed all outstanding payments on contracts administered by the country's sanitation department, the release said.
The funds will go towards water supply, sewerage and solid waste treatment projects in 12 states, including São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Minas Gerais and Bahia.
The treasury also allocated 417mn reais for PAC housing projects.
