Watchdog reports drop in user complaints

Thursday, February 3, 2011

Colombia's public services regulator Superservicios reported it received 70,034 complaints from users last year compared to 82,912 in 2009. The watchdog attributed the drop, in part, to efforts to increase citizen rights awareness.

The bulk of claims were lodged against power companies (41%), followed by water (34.3%), waste collection (10.2%), natural gas (9.93%), sewerage (0.62%) and LPG (0.03%). Customers' principal complaints were unknown charges.
