IEnova, the Mexico subsidiary of US firm Sempra Energy, continues to consolidate its market share and looks likely to increase its presence through mergers and acquisitions, having taken full advantage of the country's energy reform and infrastructure build-out.

The Mexico City-listed company said in its 2Q17 earnings report that it will focus on acquisitions and power generation contracts in the country's third power auction, scheduled for November 22, after posting second quarter pre-tax profits that were boosted by its acquisition of the Ventika wind farm (pictured) last December.

IEnova employs close to 900 people and had some US$7bn invested in project development at end-2016.
