The project involves building a high-voltage electrical substation - including installing two 150MW open cycle natural gas-fired turbo-generators and the option of installing an additional 150MW unit that would use waste heat to close the cycle. The plant will increase Anzoátegui state's installed power generation capacity, thus contributing to meeting the demand growth at local oil facilities and reducing the southeastern power system's current generation deficit.
