Chaco - Corrientes second bridge

Description: The initiative contemplates the construction of a new bridge over the Paraná River that will connect the provinces of Chaco and Corrientes, nine km south of the General Belgrano Bridge. Its main structure is a cable-stayed bridge made up of three cable-stayed spans: the largest is 330m, located over the navigation channel, and two other spans that compensate for the structure and are 161m long each. The structure also includes a 4.5km-long viaduct on the Corrientes side and 1.16km on the Chaco side. The project will be executed in two stages:  First stage will consist of the construction of the Variants for National Routes N°12 in Corrientes and N°11 in Resistencia. The second stage will be the construction of the concrete cable-stayed bridge and road connections. In addition, the project includes bypass works and access to the bridge in both provinces. The route of the bridge will cross the Paraná river and will relieve the heavy traffic of both provinces. The bridge is part of the Belgrano Plan, which supports development in northern Argentina. The initiative will have a daily capacity of 45,000 vehicles. The project is part of one of the 120 major structural works that make up the Argentina Grande Plan.
