Route 5, Section Talca - Chillán (Second concession)

Description: The project consists of the second concession of Ruta 5 that includes designing, building, operating and maintaining the section between the cities of Chillán and Talca. The objective of the project is to modernize and improve the standard of the motorway. The project is part of the government's Highway Development Program. The work includes the development of structures such as bridges, viaducts, railway crossings, links, returns, crossings and footbridges. It also considers the incorporation of a bypass with an approximate extension of 54 km for a design speed of 120 km/h (bidirectional with two lanes in each direction). Along with this, the expansion to third lanes in the sector between the vicinity of San Carlos and Chillán Viejo is planned, rehabilitation of existing roads, rectification of curves and slopes for a speed of 120 km/hr with specific exceptions, fitting out of new bridges, links , footbridges, crossings, returns and sections of service streets and the progressive implementation of a Collection System through Electronic Toll Gantries along its entire route. The work will be carried out along Route 5, also known as the Pan-American highway, passing through the provinces of Talca, Linares, Punilla and Diguillín.
