Brazilian airline Gol Transportes Aereos (www.veogol.com.br) announced this week a new online airfare auction system, with discounts of up to 83% over regular offline fares, according to Brazilian paper Panorama.

The auctions will be up and running from next week through www.voegol.com.br or through the airline's partner Precito (www.precito.com), a Lokau group company.

For example, an airfare between Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo will be auctioned for a minimum price at US$18, in comparison to the minimum offline price of US$31-39.
