MeneameBrazilian bank Banespa will sell its 19.5% stake in generator AES Tietê at a public action, business daily Valor Econômico reported.
Banespa is the second largest shareholder in AES Tietê and is expected to raise 770mn reais (US$288mn). US power company AES (NYSE: AES) controls the generator, which has 2,651MW installed capacity in 10 hydro plants in the north and north east of São Paulo state.
Credit Suisse First Boston and Santander, Banespa's controller, will co-manage the operation, Valor said.
