Panama's state transmission company Etesa has issued call 01-12 to supply distributors with firm capacity and energy in 2016-30, BNamericas has learned.

The bulk of supply will go to Edemet (2016-18: 67%, 2019-30: 60%), followed by Ensa (2016-18: 28%, 2019-30: 33%), and Edechi (2016-18: 5%, 2019-30: 7%), according to the bidding document.

The call also is open to agents in the Central American regional power market (MER) and participants of the planned interconnection with Colombia.

A clarification meeting is scheduled for March 22 and offers are due on May 24. The 15-year contracts will be awarded within 30 days of the bidding deadline, and signing will take place within 45 days of the awards.
