Mainstream Renewable Power's Chile wind farm to come online in 2016

Mainstream Renewable Power expects its 235MW Sarco wind farm project in Chile's northern Atacama region to begin generating power during the third quarter of 2016, a company press release said.

The firm secured approval of Sarco's EIS and plans to begin construction in 1Q15.

The US$500mn wind park will boast 94 2.5MW turbines and supply the central SIC grid via the Maitencillo substation.

The EIS for a 65km dual circuit 220kV transmission line to connect Sarco to the substation was submitted in June.
