Argentina's government will launch auctions next week for the first series of works worth US$460mn under the country's Federal Infrastructure Plan, infrastructure minister Carlos Bastos said, as reported by Argentine press.
Road and highway works account for US$218mn of the total and the remaining US$241mn correspond to water and sanitation works.
The first road projects to go under the hammer include works on provincial route 9 in Chaco province, national route 258 in Chubut province, route 81 in Formosa province, provincial route 29 in La Rioja, national route 23 in Rio Negro and national route 81 in Salta.
Also several works worth a total of US$114.5mn to clean up the Salado river in Buenos Aires province will be auctioned.
Additionally Bastos named Mariano Milotti as president of the council to administer the trust fund that will act as guarantor and subsequently re-finance the works once the private companies have completed them. Alejandra Caballero and Raul Aguero were named as directors of the council.
