Panama's Martinelli inaugurates US$120mn highway in Chiriqui

Panama's President Ricardo Martinelli has inaugurated the rehabilitation of the David-Dolega-Boquete highway in Chiriquí province, according to a release from the presidency.

The works, carried out by construction firm CUSA, cost US$120mn and consisted of the reconstruction of 37km of highway, expansion to four lanes and rehabilitation of bridges.

CUSA will also complete construction of a bridge along the highway during 4Q13.

The public works ministry (MOP) also plans to tender construction of the Santiago-David highway expansion shortly, said MOP head Jaime Ford during the inauguration.
