Aon Re Global, a division of US insurance group Aon (NYSE: AOC), has acquired Peru's largest reinsurance intermediary Cosegur Re, Aon Re Global said in a statement.

Terms of the agreement, which closed May 2, were not disclosed.
The acquisition of Cosegur Re offers Aon Re Global and its clients in Central and South America additional expertise, particularly in the areas of life and marine reinsurance, the statement reads.
Aon Re Latin America, the largest reinsurance broker in the region, has offices in 10 countries and 230 employees. Aon Re Peru employs 11 people.
Aon Re Global is one of the world's largest providers of reinsurance brokerage and capital solutions.
