Joint venture Sísmica Bielovenezolana has begun a seismic acquisition program in Venezuela's Apure state, state oil company PDVSA reported.
The program, dubbed Mantecal 7G2D 3C, covers a 5,000km2 area and entails carrying out 12 seismic lines that span 670km in the municipalities of Muñoz and Achaguas. A timetable for the seismic work was not provided.
Last month, PDVSA announced plans to drill 15 wells in Apure region to increase production by 38,000b/d.
The state company has a 60% stake in the JV and Belarusian oil company Belorusneft the balance.
