Fernando Cardoso, President of Brazil, and his Argentine counterpart Fernando de la Rua will inaugurate Friday (Aug. 18) a 450km, US$120mn pipeline built by local gas distribution company GasNea that links Argentine city Parana with Brazil's Rio Grande do Sul state city Uruguaiana, La Nacion (Argentina) reported
The pipeline has already begun to supply natural gas to a power plant in Uruguaiana, and once fully operational will consume some 2.8 million cu. m. per day.
Argentine construction and engineering conglomerate Techint completed the works.
