Spanish-Argentine oil company Repsol-YPF announced a gas discovery in its Barrosa Norte block, near the Loma de la Lata field in Argentina's Neuquen province. Initial estimates suggest the site has about 3 billion cubic meters of gas, but could double that amount with further investigation.

Initial tests produced over one million cubic meters per day and natural gas liquids from a depth of 2,400 meters.

Recently Repsol-YPF announced a similar discovery in Trinidad & Tobago.
