Stockholm-based construction company Skanska has won a US$150mn contract to build a hydro-desulphurization (HDS) unit at the Refap refinery in Brazil, Skanska said in a statement.
"Work begins in April and is scheduled for completion within 30 months," the Swedish company said.
The contract includes detail engineering, purchasing, construction, electromechanical installations and assistance with commissioning and startup of the unit, Skanska said.
The HDS unit will have capacity to process 5,000m3 a day.
This is the third project Skanska has won for Refap.
Refap is in Rio Grande do Sul state and belongs to federal energy company Petrobras (NYSE: PBR) and Spanish oil major Repsol YPF (NYSE: REP).
