Colombian environmental regulator Anla suspended one of London-based oil junior Perenco's crude transportation operations in eastern Casanare department.

Anla ordered to halt a pipeline carrying crude from the LGL-19 and La Gloria wells on the Casanare A1a block in order to protect local water source Caño Palo Blanco, an Anla press release said Wednesday.

The pipeline has suffered two leaks in less than a year which could have been prevented with proper maintenance, Anla added.

"Once [Perenco's local unit] Perenco Colombia guarantees the pipeline's integrity, recovers material spilled in Caño Palo Blanco, carries out a treatment plan and presents an environmental recovery plan, [the regulator] will consider the possibility of lifting the suspension," Anla said.
