Brazilian hardware manufacturer Bematech has opened a new office in Taiwan capital Taipei, reported news service Baguete.
Bematech intends to select partners, implement a marketing drive and focus on the market for printers and kiosk printers, Baguete reported.
The new office will provide support for Bematech's Asian clients as well as expand its business in Taiwan.
Bematech is also in the process of strengthening its other international operations. In May, the company invested US$500,000 in launching operations in Argentina.
Non-Brazilian activities recorded only US$300,000 in revenues in 2005 and the company expects that figure to rise to US$1.4mn in 2006, financial newspaper Gazeta Mercantil recently reported.
Bematech is estimating growth in 2006 of at least 20% over revenues of 141mn reais (US$65.8mn) in 2005, due to an increase in sales of complete POS solutions and the expansion of international operations.
The company's product range includes kiosk printers, paper holders, PC cabinet faces, power supplies and POS solutions with mini-printers.
