Companies turning to bigger amounts of data to make better decisions

Advanced analytics software provider SAS is placing its bets on companies increasingly looking to explore large amounts of data in order to make on-the-spot business decisions, according to SAS Chile country manager Marcelo Sukni.

SAS's business analytics solution, Visual Analytics, was launched last year. In Chile, SAS is starting to deploy now, allowing clients to explore teras and teras of information, online.

"Visual Analytics will mark the difference in 2013-14. We're putting a lot of focus on this and we want our clients to see the benefits of this. It will be the first step for the next technologies that we'll develop for our clients," Sukni told BNamericas.

Looking further down the road, "the customer is looking for a much wider vision of all of their data. This goes beyond big analytics or big data. It is about making decisions so that the margins, the Ebidta and costs improve, and how to make decisions, based on what type of information," Sukni said. "Having that information online, in a speedy and trustworthy way... that's where our customers are taking us."
