Freelancer currently has local websites for each of these four countries, which has resulted in significant growth in the firm's user base.

The number of users in Chile has increased by 50% since Freelancer inaugurated a local website in the country in August, and its user base in Brazil has also increased by around 50% since a local website in Portuguese was initiated at the end of November, according to Siseles.

The company is also planning to launch several other local websites in Latin America this year, with Uruguay, Peru and Colombia all to be launched during 2013. Freelancer is also considering the possibility of launching a local website for Central America, he added.
