UK data storage technology provider Xyratex (Nasdaq: XRTX) is opening a new facility in Guadalajara, Mexico, the company said in a statement without revealing the amount invested.
The new operations will provide OEM partners with disk drive integration and system configuration capabilities adjacent to their US distribution facilities.
The Guadalajara facility will open in May and is located close to the integration and distribution facilities of major OEM partners, to enable "just in time" manufacturing integration of the Xyratex OneStor data storage platform with the OEMs' solutions.
This facility complements Xyratex's current global integration and fulfillment facilities located in the UK, California and Malaysia.
Founded in 1994 in a management buyout from IBM, Xyratex has an established global base with R&D and operational facilities in Europe, the US and Southeast Asia.
