Trinidad and Tobago tenders wastewater treatment plant construction

The government of Trinidad and Tobago has published a tender for the construction of two wastewater treatment plants in Malabar and San Fernando, according to a tender notice published by the IDB.

The aim of the project, to be completed in phases, is to decrease the uncontrolled discharge of untreated wastewater into the environment, with the first phase consisting of construction of the wastewater treatment plants, collection systems and sewer service connections.

The IDB is financing improvements to the wastewater plants.

The contract also includes a 2-year operation and maintenance requirement post construction.

The pre-qualification period will be open until March 1, with invitations to bid expected in April.

Works will start in the last quarter of this year, according to the release.
