We live in an ever converging world. In the push to grow business, companies are expanding their scope. OEMs are getting into services, PC manufacturers are exploding onto the mobile scene, and in the end it may be very difficult to say exactly what a company does or doesn't do.

Case in point - this week US computer giant Dell announced its arrival in the smartphone market with the launch of the Dell Mini 3 device. It will kick off with China Mobile, and shortly afterwards with Claro in Brazil - highlighting not just the convergence trend, but the focus on developing markets as well.

Dell plans to target Claro Brasil's client base of more than 42mn people with the new Mini 3 smartphone.
