Waste management solutions firm Ecoltec is a subsidiary of cement manufacturer Holcim Apasco. Over the last few years, the company has been working with the Mexican government to develop programs for the safe disposal of tires in Mexico. One such program, which began in Coahuila state capital Saltillo in 2008, has allowed Ecoltec to collect and dispose of over 650t of used tires in 2009 alone.
