Research Reports

Argentine IT consultancy Snoop Consulting is studying launching operations in Peru, Bolivia and Paraguay during 2007, company president and CEO Gustavo Guaragna told BNamericas.

Snoop is also targeting a number of European countries through an office it plans to open in Madrid by the beginning of next year, according to Guaragna.

"In the medium term, in about two years, we expect to start operating in Germany, England, Holland, France and Switzerland," the executive said.

Guaragna said the company would invest nearly US$500,000 in opening the first office in Europe.

In Argentina, Snoop plans to open an office in Rosario city, in the Santa Fe province, mainly aimed at providing support to foreign operations.

Guaragna also confirmed estimates made earlier this year that Snoop expects to bill 9mn pesos (US$2.92mn) in 2006 compared to almost 5mn pesos the year before.

The executive said the company has nearly 150 clients from its operations in Argentina and Chile. Argentine operations account for nearly 90% of the company's revenues, according to the executive.

"In a couple of years we expect foreign operations to represent nearly half of our business," Guaragna said.

Snoop builds solutions based mainly on Oracle (Nasdaq: ORCL) databases and Java J2EE architecture, Oracle Collaboration Suite and Red Hat Linux.

Founded six years ago, the company currently has 130 employees and plans to grow to 150 by end-2006.

The company has offices in Buenos Aires and La Plata, Argentina, and Santiago de Chile.
