EAAB, the water and sewerage utility in Colombian capital Bogotá, is preparing to issue 250bn pesos (US$107mn) in bonds this week through the company trust fund Fideicomiso Acueducto y Alcantarillado de Bogotá, local press reported.
"This is the first time that we are going to issue securities on the Colombian stock exchange [BVC] and it's quite a large amount of money," company press representative Edgar Ortiz told BNamericas.
The trust fund will offer securities at terms of between 10 and 12 years. This paper forms part of a larger issue of 300bn pesos. The securities have been awarded a AAA rating by agency BRC Investor Services de Colombia.
The issue of the securities "won't be Tuesday [Oct 24], but it could be Wednesday or Thursday. They'll be on sale starting this week," he said
The company said that the money raised from the issue would be used for the replacement of existing credit.
