Argentine state-run utility Agua y Saneamientos Argentinos (AySA) was established in 2006 to provide drinking water and wastewater services. The company's 20,700km potable water network spans a concession area of 2,500km2. It also includes three water purification plants with capacity to treat 5.4Mm3/d; 10 underground water treatment plants; and 18 lift stations, serving more than 9.8 million users in the city of Buenos Aires and in 23 other districts in Greater Buenos Aires. Its sanitation network comprises drainpipes spanning more than 13,300km; 11 treatment plants and 134 pumping stations, serving a population of 7.6 million users. AySA is headquartered in Buenos Aires city.
