Description

Consorcio PTAR El Caracol – a group made up of Spain's Acciona Agua S.A.U. (50%) and Mexican firms Promotora del Desarrollo de América Latina, S.A. de C.V., Carso Infraestructura y Construcción, S.A. de C.V. and Operadora Cicsa, S.A. de C.V. – won a 23-year concession from Mexico's national water commission Conagua to build the El Caracol wastewater treatment plant in the municipality of Ecatepec, within the Mexico City metropolitan area. The project, which was to be developed under the public-private partnership model, was awarded in September 2012, but was ultimately canceled and the tender declared void.
