Lima-based GMI S.A. is a subsidiary of Peruvian holding company Graña y Montero, and provides engineering and consulting services for the mining, oil & gas, infrastructure, water and environmental sectors. The company was founded in 1984 and it has developed projects in Peru, Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Panama, Bolivia, Venezuela, Chile and Argentina, among others. The firm focuses on engineering services, project management, Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management (EPCM), geomatics, and environmental consulting services. For the mining sector it specializes in conveyor and storage systems, construction and expansion of industrial facilities, bottleneck identification and debottlenecking, and pumping systems. In Peru, it has participated in the development of DOE Run Peru's sulfuric acid plant, in La Oroya; and Minera Yanacocha's acid water treatment plants La Quinua and Pampa Larga, in Cajamarca; as well as Hochschild's San José Mining Project, in Patagonia, Argentina. In the oil & gas segment, it provided different engineering services and feasibility studies for Savia Peru's natural gas platforms; engineering services for Contugas's natural gas distribution system in Ica; and EPCM services for several terminals owned by Consorcio Terminales – GMP.
