Description

Superintendency of Banks and Financial Institutions (SBIF) is an autonomous organization of Chilean State, linked to the Ministry of Finance and incorporated in 1925 to supervise banking companies and other financial institutions in defense of Chilean financial system. Based in Santiago, it provides information on the market, legislation, regulations and public records of supervised companies. In addition, it is in charge of delivering banking licenses in Chile.
